Wrapping Up 2025

Curlies, Gratitude, and Looking Ahead to 2026 🐾

As 2025 draws to a close, it feels like the right moment to pause, reflect, and say thank you — for the dogs, the people, and the quiet moments that made this year meaningful at Cutecurl Retrievers.

🖤 A Year of Curlies

While we didn’t attend the Royal shows this year, we were incredibly proud of our dogs’ achievements closer to home. At the Curly Specialty Show, Xena had a wonderful day, being awarded Reserve Bitch Challenge, Best Gaited, and Best Dam and Progeny alongside Skadi and Loki. Skadi also impressed, taking out Minor Puppy in Show 🥳🥳

We also had a very successful year on the Victorian show circuit, with Freya achieving her Championship title and Bert attaining his Grand Championship title 🎉🎉🎉 — a first for Cutecurl Retrievers 💙💙💙

🤎 Welcoming the Next Generation

One of the greatest joys of the year was welcoming the next generation to Cutecurl. Watching Loki and Skadi grow, learn, and discover the world has been a privilege — full of laughter, curiosity, and promise for the future.

This litter was made possible thanks to the generosity, care, and vision of Bling Bling Kennels, whose overseas breeding program we deeply admire, and we are sincerely grateful for the trust placed in us through the use of their semen. We would also like to thank Dizzyki Kennels for entrusting us with Freya, who has been such a wonderful addition to our home and program.

We are incredibly thankful for the collaboration, support, and shared commitment to thoughtful, responsible breeding that made these achievements possible.

🐾 Trying Something New

2025 also gave us the chance to explore new experiences. Polly tried SprintDog™ for the first time — and loved it! Seeing her joy and enthusiasm was a wonderful reminder that there are many ways for dogs to shine and many paths to fulfilment beyond the show ring.

🔥 The Rhythm of the Seasons

This year was marked by the simple pleasures that define life with Curlies:

• Pool days in summer, with wet curls, wagging tails, and contented dogs stretched out in the shade

• Winter evenings by the fire, Curlies piled close, noses tucked in, and that unmistakable sense of warmth and belonging 🔥

These moments — unremarkable to some — are the ones we treasure most.

🖤 Honouring the Journey

Our dogs are only with us for a chapter of our lives, but they shape us forever. In 2025, we were reminded how important it is to savour time together — whether that’s travelling to visit an old friend, sharing one last adventure, or simply being present.

These experiences deepen our gratitude for every day we share with our dogs and reinforce why we do what we do — with care, intention, and love.

✨ Looking Ahead to 2026

As we look toward 2026, we do so with optimism and an open heart. There will be new adventures, familiar faces, growing youngsters, and many more curly-coated moments — whatever form they take.
